If we’d sold him on during the loan that would be fine happy, and even then it’s a shit clause to allow in. However, he’d returned to us, the loan was finished and he wasn’t going back there, it’s an awful clause to allow. I know they got rid of the PR nightmare for us but as Blacky would say, dearie me.

Well yeah, it obviously blew up in Arnold’s face as the fucking idiot thought everyone would be happy if he brought Greenwood back into the team. Once that particular brain fart backfired he scrambled to get Greenwood out the door. And the only team in the entire fucking world who were willing to take him were Getafe. So they cleverly inserted a clause to take the damaged goods, far enough. Clever.
Get your head out of your arse happy, the fact they were getting a world class player far beyond what they could normally recruit or afford should have been all the reward they needed. Arnold and Murtough are, and were, Muppets.

The fact is that Man City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and all the other well-run clubs in world football would never have paid 5m to Getafe as part of the Greenwood deal, irrespective of his standing from a public perception point of view. I still don’t want to believe that this news report is even real because it’s unfathomable that we’d piss away 5m so easily. If it is true then it goes to show how utterly disastrous the transfer policy of the club is: like literally bottom 10 of all professional football clubs in Europe sort of standard – for Manchester United!
